Collaborative Community Artwork

At the beginning of the year, many of our classrooms 

focus on building a sense of community. 

In Art, we expanded on this by creating a 

collaborative piece of artwork, representing each child. 

3rd - 6th Grade students created collages from magazines, choosing images that represented their individual personalities. We discussed how each person brought something different to a community and how diversity adds strength to a group. 

Preschool - 2nd grade used oil pastels and watercolor to create individual pieces of artwork that were then put into a collaborative "Garden of Friends". 

I had some much appreciated help hanging the artwork. :)
