3rd and 4th graders will soon begin the classroom unit
Mountains to Sea
as they explore all aspects of North Caroline.
In Art, we are connecting to the study of maps and map making
by using goolge maps to draw maps of Wilmington.
Working in groups, students used the iPads to select either a portion of town, or all of Wilmington to draw.
We also used several printed maps of isolated areas such as Bald Head Island, Wrighstville Beach, or downtown.
Our cartographers are well on their way!
We are also looking at the artist Piet Mondrian, and will soon add color in select areas.
