Art Madness has made a return this year! I decided to switch it to an every-other year project. I find it hugely beneficial in teaching about a variety of artists in a fun way, but since the project requires a lot of class time, this seems like a good solution.
Before Spring Break students chose the name of one of our 64 artists. They each completed an artist bio sheet and are now presenting to their class.
Students brought in book and images of their artist.
Great research, excitement, and thoughtfulness!
In addition to bringing in an example of her artist's work, Natasha made her own artwork, in the style of her artist, Jackson Pollock! ...
... and one very excited kiddo even made a shirt in honor of her artist!
I love how excited everyone gets to learn about Art history!
As an art teacher, there are fewer joys greater than your students passionately taking control of their learning to soak up as much artist information as they can!
We will soon start the first round of voting, and in a few weeks will have a champion!
